Hands are like trees. Hmmm. Maybe I only imagined this because I was outside, but there really seem to be similarities between the two. An arm is like a trunk, the fingers are like branches, and knuckles are like the nobby places that I don't know the name for. It's fun to think of this anyway while sketching. I suppose I could really entertain myself by thinking of other similarities---hands are like broccoli, forks, and the turkey we all drew in first grade---but for now, while I'm in the balmy breezes of the backyard, I'll stick with trees.
